Bobby Kamwa has expressed his desire to become a major asset in County's  attacking ranks this season as his side prepare to face Doncaster Rovers on Saturday afternoon (3pm).

The Exiles will host Rovers at Rodney Parade this weekend in their first home game of the Sky Bet League Two season.

And the ex Leeds United academy graduate is hoping that he can continue to excite the fans and believes he can do that with the help of the atmosphere that the Amber Army will create tomorrow.

“It’s my first game at home so I’m hoping that the fans will bring the same energy they had at Cheltenham, and I’m sure it will be even bigger at Rodney Parade,” said the winger.

“All I want to do is excite the fans and bring as much as I can to the team.

“I’m really enjoying life at Newport so far. It’s been frustrating over the last two games that we haven’t got the wins for the fans, but we’re continuing to work hard to get that win for them.

“I’m really excited for my home debut and witness the home support. Whoever plays tomorrow is looking forward to the occasion, and hopefully we can give them a big win they deserve.

“Doncaster finished off last season well but it’s a new season with new players and we’re going into the game to win.

"We don’t care if they’ve had a good season or not because we’re just focused ourselves with the ambition of three points.”

Kamwa joined the Exiles this summer from Burton Albion where he made 42 appearances for the Brewers across two seasons.

But the former Leeds United player revealed the project and culture that Jardim is trying to build here at County was a huge attraction in him making the switch to South Wales.

“I was attracted to Newport County because of the owners, the manager and the project at hand in terms how they see things going forward,” he added.

“The project here is really exciting and they’re just trying to renew everything and I had a feeling that something special was happening here, so that’s what makes me happy to be here.

“There are a lot of young players but also a lot of experienced players in the team. I especially like the skipper Wildig because he’s someone I really like on and off the pitch.”
