Bobby Kamwa | I’m looking forward to bringing as much excitement to the fans

New signing Bobby Kamwa wants to provide moments of “excitement” for the Amber Army this season after completing his move to Newport County.

The 24-year-old forward has joined the Exiles from League One side Burton Albion, where he made 42 appearances for the Brewers across two seasons.

He will bring pace and power to head coach Nelson Jardims’ attacking options in the final third, and the Cameroon is eager to make his mark in NP19 and get fans off their seats.

“I’m looking forward to bringing as much excitement to the fans as possible,” said the former Leeds United youngster.

“I’ve spoken to the manager and he told me about the plans going forward, and that was something that really excited me.

“I’ve trained with the team over the last few days and it feels like a really good place to be.

“I want to bring as much experience as I can to the team this year from my time in League One.

“This league is competitive, and it’s not just a walk in the park, so I feel like the team needs something going forward that can excite the fans and that’s why they’ve brought me in.

“I would describe myself as a tricky and pacy winger. I’m a forward thinking player who likes to score goals.

“I love to beat my man with pace and that’s something the fans can really expect from me.

“I just can’t wait to get going.”

Kamwa arrives at the club just over a week before the new League Two season gets underway.

The Exiles face Cheltenham Town on the opening day at the Completely-Suzuki Stadium, and the winger is looking forward to facing the Robins once again this season.

“I’m really looking forward to the start of the new campaign,” added Kamwa.

“Cheltenham are a side I know quite well having played against them last season, so I’m looking forward to playing against them once again.

“Before coming here, one of the first things I checked was the fans base. What I’ve seen from them is great and I’m looking forward to meeting them and feeling that atmosphere at Rodney Parade.”
