Anthony Glennon has credited his Newport County teammates for helping him quickly settle into life in NP19.
The left back, who recently joined the club on a two-year deal from Grimsby Town, has featured in the Exiles' last two friendly matches against Pontypridd and Barry Town United.
The defender impressed at full-back during Saturday’s narrow defeat against Barry and assisted the Exiles’ opening goal for Aaron Wildig.
And the former Liverpool youngster is hoping to build on the minutes he’s gained in pre-season so far.
“I’m finding life here in Newport really good so far and I’m really enjoying it,” began Glennon.
“The lads, the staff and everyone involved in the environment have been brilliant with me, and I’m really looking forward to the next few weeks.
“I feel like i've settled in really well and I’m very excited for the league to kick-off now.
“Pre-season is all about building towards that first game and that’s been the main aim for us over the last three weeks.
“It has given us the opportunity to work on our shape and style of play, ensuring we’re fully prepared for the new season ahead.”
Glennon missed the Exiles’ opening friendly against Undy two weeks ago due to sustaining a minor knock in training, and he has stressed the importance of match fitness at this stage of pre-season.
“It was good to get some more minutes in the tank on Saturday, “he added.
“Having missed the first game against Undy with a slight knock, it was important that I got some more valuable minutes under my belt.
“Hopefully, for us as players, we can start building those minutes up now to 60 to 90 over the next few games.
“I’ve really enjoyed the games so far and the style of football we’re trying to play.
“The way Nelson wants us to play really suits me as I can get forward and get a lot of good crosses into the box."
