Newport County is pleased to announce it has recently donated £1,400 to Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).
The club have been proud supporters of MNDA this year having launched a special one-off kit earlier in the season against Stockport in aid of former player Jason Bowen, and the charity.
As well as fund-raising efforts on the day of the game, the club sold a limited-edition shirt in the club shop and online, with our official retail partner VX3 also donating £10 from every shirt purchased.
The club also auctioned off those match-worn shirts signed individually by the players in order to increase funds.
MND is a condition that affects the brain and the nervous system. There is currently no cure for MND, but there is treatment available to help reduce the impact on a person’s everyday life.
In total, the club have recently been pleased to hand over a cheque for £8,000 to Jason and his family, together with a further cheque for £1,400 to the charity MNDA.
