Defender Kyle Jameson shares his thoughts ahead of Saturday when Newport County welcome Mansfield for an important Sky Bet League Two clash at Rodney Parade.
As Newport County welcome top of the league Mansfield Town to Rodney Parade tomorrow, Kyle Jameson remains optimistic that the Exiles have a good chance, but also won't dismiss the challenges that The Stags will bring.
“Mansfield are a top team; they’re doing well at the minute. But coming to the Rodney Parade isn’t an easy place to come to,” he explained confidently.
“If we can get the whole crowd going, I think we stand a good shot. When the fans are behind us and we’re doing well it brings confidence and it’s a good place to be.”
“It’ll be a tough task, but I do think we stand a good chance against any team in this league.”
“In this league, I think every can beat everyone and that has shown.
“It will be hard, but we’ll give it our all.”
With his first season with the Welsh side not going to plan and having to take time off due to a lengthy injury, Jameson finally was able to make an appearance on Tuesday night against Harrogate Town.
“It’s been a long process, but there’s light at the end of the tunnel.
“It’s been a long road, but It’s good to finally get back,” he said.
The centre-back followed on by setting aspirations for himself and his team, looking towards the end of the season.
“I think for the team, the aspirations are to get as many points as possible on board. Obviously do all the basics that we’ve been doing, and roll out good performances and go from there, one game at a time.
“For me, it’s to stay in the team and play as many games as I can from now until the end of the season."
