Sam Allison will be the man to take charge of Newport's Emirates FA Cup clash third round replay with Eastleigh at the Silverlake stadium (Tuesday, 16 January, 7:45pm).
The established official enjoyed a successful playing career before turning his attention to refereeing.
Having started his footballing journey with Swindon Town, Allison moved on to Bristol City, Bournemouth and Exeter City, also making a handful of appearances for England schoolboys and representing Great Britain. Allison had a dual career as a match official and a firefighter, before turning his attention to officiating, full-time after the introduction of the Elite Referee Development Plan.
Recent games he's been involved in include; Ipswich's 2-1 victory over Sunderland, Leicester's 4-1 over Huddesfield and Forest Green Rovers scoreless draw with Gillingham. Just five cards were distributed in his past three matches.
Allison last referee'd the Exiles back in March last year during Newport's 1-1 draw with Bradford City at Rodney Parade.
His officiating team will consist of; Richard Wild (Assistant), Mark Russell (Assistant) and Josh Smith will be the designated fourth official.
