After putting pen to paper, the striker shared his thought's and feelings around being and official Newport County player.
“I’m glad that we got it [the deal] over the line so quickly, I’m looking forward to getting going and meeting the lads.
“I’ve heard it’s a great group of lads and I can’t wait to get amongst it,” confirmed the forward.
Jephcott was confident on his targets for the rest of the season when asked: “Goals,” he replied.
“I’d like to add more goals although I’m aware we’ve scored a lot already, and I’d like to add a touch of experience and composure too,” he confirmed.
The striker, who secured himself 26 international caps at youth level shared his pride around becoming a Welsh international: “As a child you always dream of playing at that level, and it was a real honour to represent my country and an equally proud moment for me and my family.”
The striker joins Newport on the back of a Welsh derby win over Wrexham and joins a dressing room that’s full of confidence as they head into a fourth round FA Cup tie with Manchester United this Sunday: “I’m very excited,” he began.
“It’s Manchester United!” he said is disbelief.
“I can’t wait to get started with the lads, meet the fans on Sunday and hopefully give them a really positive and hard-working performance.”
The fixtures come thick and fast in League Two as many know, It’s Swindon who await the Exiles following Manchester United, a club that Jephcott knows all to well from his time there: “Really excited to come up against my former club, I’ll see a lot of old faces.
“At the end of the day, we’re here to do our job and that’s to get the three points!”
