Manager Graham Coughlan was left delighted after his side secured a 2-0 away victory against Gillingham on Saturday afternoon.
Two first-half penalties from Omar Bogle saw the Exiles return to winning ways at Priestfield Stadium, earning a first win in four games. Read how it unfolded here.
Graham Coughlan spoke to the press and gave his immediate thoughts on the game: “I thought the boys were magnificent today,” stated Coughlan.
“I’m really proud of them (the players) and it’s a big win for us.
“To get a clean sheet at a place like this and with the injuries we’ve got, it reall is a massive win.
“We needed that experience today from Scot (Bennett) at the back. We needed that voice. We needed that leadership. Somebody who can read the game.
We have a young squad, we have got young centre-halves who are learning and developing. Declan is having to get back to fitness through playing games, so it's tough for him.
Coughlan was pleased with how his striker performed today, stating he was a 'handful' for the Gillingham defenders: “I thought Omar (Bogle) was brilliant today, he was a real handful all afternoon," Coughlan confirmed.
"I think he should've have had a hat-trick, in fairness. Still, he was a handful all afternoon and I certainly wouldn’t have liked to be playing against him when I was a centre half. Credit to him, he took his goals well.”
