Referee Ben Atkinson will be the man in the middle for today’s encounter with MK Dons at Rodney Parade.
Atkinson was most recently in charge of last Sunday’s first round proper tie, between Slough Town and Grimsby which saw six yellow cards dished out in a one-all stalemate. He was also in action the day before as dedicated fourth official in the Championship fixture between Swansea City and Sunderland.
Other notable games that Atkinson has officiated include Newport’s 2-1 win over Leyton Orient in the FA Cup back in 2020 and more recently, a high-scoring affair between Swindon Town and Sutton United which saw Swindon come away 5-3 victorious.
This will be Atkinson’s first visit to Rodney Parade as an official.
His team for today will include Christopher Husband (Assistant), Stuart Kane (Assistant) and Mark Derrien (Fourth official).
