Exiles On The Road | Mansfield Away Day Guide

After four consecutive games at Rodney Parade in league and cup, we are back on the road for the first time in three weeks on Saturday when we make the long journey to Mansfield Town. Keep reading to find out everything you need to know about our trip to the One Call Stadium.

Where is The One Call Stadium?

The One Call Stadium is located at:

Quarry Lane
Mansfield
NG18 5DA

Where will Newport fans be during the game?

Newport fans will be placed in the North Stand, which has a capacity of 1,619. This is the stand directly behind the goal.

How do I get to the One Call Stadium?

Saturday’s journey will be a long one for Newport fans. The following are the best ways to get to Mansfield from Newport.

Car

Mansfield Town’s stadium is 159 miles from Rodney Parade. Depending on traffic, this should take fans around 3 hours.

Train

There are no direct trains from Newport to Mansfield. Fans looking to make the journey by train will need to take a direct train to Nottingham and then change to Mansfield. The journey will take around four hours, with trains to Nottingham leaving Newport either on the hour or 59 minutes past the hour. In order to give yourself time before kick-off, the best train would be the 08:59 service to Nottingham, where you would then change to 12:25 from Nottingham to Mansfield, arriving at 13:01.

Ticket prices hover around £75-£80 but are subject to change depending on availability.

Fans should ensure they get off the train at Mansfield station and not Mansfield Woodhouse.

Coach

The easiest way to get to Mansfield this Saturday afternoon is by taking one of the official supporter's coaches arranged by the NCAFC Supporter’s Club.

Can I park near the stadium?

There is no parking available at Field Mill. However, Mansfield’s away day guide lists the following options:

Grove Street, NG18 1EL at 70p per hour.

Robin Hood Line Station, NG18 1HA 70p per hour or a 24hr ticket for £3.00. Disabled parking is free within the designated spaces for blue badge holders.

Watermeadows, NG18 1BA £1 per hour. Disabled parking is free within the designated spaces for blue badge holders.

How far is the train station to Mansfield Town Stadium?

The One Call Stadium is located less than a ten-minute walk from Mansfield station. After turning out of the station onto Station Street, you will want to turn left onto Portland Street, walk straight down until you can right onto Bishop Street, and the stadium will be visible.

Where to eat and drink locally

There are several options for food and drink, both pre and post-match, for Exiles this Saturday. A popular destination for away fans is the family-friend William IV pub, which is around a 10-minute walk from the stadium.

Fans with a bit of time on their hands might want to check out Mansfield Town Centre, where they will find a selection of restaurants and pubs. There is also St Peter’s Retail Park near the train station, where fans can grab a quick Greggs or Costa Coffee.

Mansfield Town recommends checking their dedicated policing page on X to find out where aways fans are welcome on the day.

Last time out

Our last game with Mansfield came towards the end of last season at Rodney Parade. The Stags were in the hunt for a playoff spot and, after some early scares from us, snatched the lead in the 23rd minute, with Hiram Boateng poking a scrappy goal past Joe Day.

The game would remain tight, with County finding Mansfield's keeper Christy Pym in fine form. The visitors would eventually grab the second goal of the afternoon thanks to a brilliant solo effort from James Gale.

Aaron Wildig headed us back into the game in the 86th minute, but it was too little too late, as Mansfield held on to secure a 2-1 win.
