James Clarke agrees two-year deal to extend his stay in South Wales until the end of the 2025 season, subject to EFL Approval.
James Clarke joined the Exiles back in June of 2021 from Walsall F.C. James made an immediate impression, grabbing the winner against his former club in the 87th minute of the match.
James’ dedication, and remarkable contribution on the field have become an integral part of Newport's identity. His unwavering commitment to the club and his ability to inspire teammates make him a true asset to Newport County AFC.
Newport County manager Graham Coughlan said “James is an experienced pro, he’s a leader, he knows the club and for that reason it was an easy decision to make. We went to him early, he came back to us early”. Graham went on to say “It’s great for James to have played 500 games and to achieve that at our club is fantastic. The experience he’s amassed over these appearances will be beneficial for the task ahead and I am very much looking forward to working with him again next season”.
James spoke to the media team, as he expressed his delight on signing a new deal with the club “I’m looking forward to getting back into training and seeing the lads. It’s a great group of players, it’s a really good environment, hence why I am really excited to have been offered a new deal and stay”.
