Newport County AFC travel to the Jobserve Community Stadium this Saturday to face a tough fixture against Colchester United.
Graham Coughlan’s Exiles travel to Ben Garner’s Colchester United this weekend for their Sky Bet EFL League two fixture.
The hosts have struggled for form all season, particularly of late, picking up only two points from a possible 15, albeit one of these were gained against league topper’s Leyton Orient and more recently against Tranmere Rovers.
After a break due to International Call-ups Newport County AFC will be looking to build on the three points collected last time out against Tranmere Rovers, which saw us score three goals which came from Wildig, Kavanagh and a professional first from McNeill.
When asked how the two weeks between the fixtures have been, Manager – Graham Coughlan responded that “The first week was okay. We tried to give the players plenty of rest as their schedule has been relentless. Going into the second week, as we all know the weather took a turn for the worst… so it’s been patchy this week… we’ve got a little bit of work in, so fingers crossed that will come out in our game on Saturday.”
Ahead of this weekend’s trip to the Southeast, Graham was asked what his thoughts and expectations were going into the fixture on Saturday. He responded… “they’ve had their down time, now it’s time to get their head back in business, refocus, regroup and we go again, we should be in a good place, we should be high in confidence, and we should be looking forward to it, it’s a difficult place to go, and will be a challenge.”
The game could prove to be a tough battle between the two teams, but who will come out on top? Colchester in 21st place on 37 points, or the Exiles who are 18th on 43 points?
Safe journey to all Exiles joining us for Saturday’s fixture, the team will look forward to hearing you in full voice!
We thank you all for your ongoing support.
