County's first away day of 2023 is a trip to second-bottom Rochdale as Newport seek their first win of the calendar year.
The Port showed resilience on January 2 with a late second-half comeback to rescue a 2-2 draw at home to Crawley after going 2-0 down at Rodney Parade.
Rochdale also started 2023 with a draw, as they played out a 0-0 with Barrow which leaves Dale 23rd in League Two, three points adrift of survival and nine points behind County in 18th.
Newport have no new injury concerns going into the weekend but will have recent history against them at Spotland.
Rochdale won the reverse fixture 1-0 earlier this season and County have only beaten Dale once in the five meetings between the two since our return to the Football League - a 2-1 win at Rodney Parade in 2014.
One of those defeats at Spotland came last season, with the hosts running out 3-0 winners on that occasion.
