Our age groups had another busy week - here's an update on the last seven days at Newport County AFC academy.
Under-18s
The Under-18s were in action on Tuesday against Swindon Town, narrowly losing 5-4 in a topsy-turvy dramatic encounter at Foundation Park that saw Swindon race into a 4-0 lead before County roared back to level at 4-4.
Unfortunately, Swindon won out with a late winner - Kiban Rai, Mal Graham (x2) and Sonny Lewis found the net for County. Two under-16s were involved too, with
They were also involved in a 5-2 defeat to Bournemouth, with Lewis again on the scoresheet against the Cherries.
Under-16s
The Under-18s also had a game against Bournemouth, but were also sadly on the wrong end of the result, losing 2-0 with under-15s and 16s featuring in the defeat.
Under-9s - Under-14s
The Newport/Bournemouth face-offs continued across the age groups with the Under-9s, 10s, 11s, 13s and 14s all playing competitive fixtures against Bournemouth.
The Under-16s and 18s both have two scheduled games this week while the schoolboys are hopeful of having games scheduled in the next seven days. We will update you all this time next week!
