Aaron Lewis is of the opinion the club's up-turn in form has been a "long time coming", as the increasingly-versatile man also spoke of his new venture as a centre midfielder.
Two wins and a draw in the last three sees County on a run of seven points from a possible nine which has been the Exiles pick up form to ease worries of a nervy end of the season.
The club's campaign has been up and down in places but Aaron has outlined that the squad's belief to go on a good run has always been there.
When asked how the camp's been following the impressive three-game streak, Aaron replied: "The mood's been good to be fair, I feel like we've come into a good bit of form over the last three games with two wins and a draw.
"Everybody's trying to take it game-by-game but not forgetting about what we've done in the past.
"We've just got to trust in what we're doing, stick to our principles and just believe that if we keep putting the work in on the training pitch then the result will come on Saturday.
"Results are the be-all and end-all but at the end of the day I think we're doing everything right as a squad.
"Ever since the gaffer's come in, we've been working extremely hard on the training pitch and in the gym, it's probably been a long time coming that we've started putting some results together."
Aaron has long been known for his versatility at Rodney Parade, with the wing-back able to play on either side of the defensive flanks while also deputising at centre back on occasion.
He's added another string to his bow in recent weeks with manager Graham Coughlan deploying him as a centre midfielder, but it turns out the role isn't as new to Aaron as many might think.
"It's enjoyable playing a little bit higher up the pitch - obviously as long as I'm on the pitch I'm not too bothered about where I play.
"But that centre mid role I feel like I'm getting a lot more comfortable every game and hopefully I can start adding some goals and assists to that too.
"I played there when I was younger but I haven't played there for a little while so it's good. Everyone knows the principles, you should know what you're doing in every position whether you're playing there or not so I felt like it was quite easy to slip into that role.
"I don't think it's been a massive change, I've played here long enough to know what the centre mids are doing - I know their role anyway so I think for me to go in there and do that was easy enough."
