Established EFL official, John Busby will be the man in the middle for Newport's trip to Wrexham this afternoon (Saturday, December, 23. 3pm)
Busby has taken charge of over 200 EFL matches with his most notable career achievements to date include refereeing the FA Vase Final in 2021 and being named the designated Fourth Official for the 2023 League One Play-Off Final between Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday.
Busby has officiated 16 games this season so far, most of which being at Championship level. He has distributed 71 yellow cards and just one red card. The most cards he awarded in one game this season was ten, he gave nine yellows and one red card when Stoke hosted Rotherham in a five-goal thriller at the Bet 365 Stadium.
Busby's officiating team for this afternoon will consist of Nigel Lugg (Assistant), Matthew Smith (Assistant) and Scott Jackson who completes the officiating line-up as the designated Fourth Official.
