On Tuesday the 18th of April at 19:45 Newport County will host Mansfield Town in SkyBet League Two at Rodney Parade.
After the result on Saturday, County are in a ‘real good place’ according to the Gaffer, Graham Coughlan. County gave just the response the manager was looking for, after the defeat away at Stockport by ending Hartlepool’s magnificent 8-game unbeaten run with goals from Skipper Mickey Demetriou and Omar Bogle giving County a 2-0 lead and all three points in front of a roaring Rodney Parade.
Newport County will be looking to build on this win now and head into the end of the season on a high ready to go again in the 23/24 campaign. With only five games left of the season and only three more home games, we want to see as many Exiles pack the Parade as possible, making it a fortress, as we have seen more recently at games. Graham Coughlan praised the Amber Army, saying "They (the fans) have dug us out so many times this season, and the fans are so important to us when we’re out on that pitch".
Looking at Mansfield Town’s recent form, they have picked up two points in their recent two games, both 1-1 draws with both Rochdale, and Grimsby. Before that beating Swindon Town in a 6-goal thriller, coming out the right side, winning 4-2 in that match. Currently seventh in the league Mansfield are looking to secure playoffs for the 22/23 season and will be looking to get back to winning ways on their visit to Rodney Parade tomorrow night.
Off the pitch our FanZone & Marquee open at 5pm with the big screen on and the bar open!
We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow, Exiles!
