Newport County AFC are thrilled to announce the appointment of Chris Finn as Head of Football Operations.
Bristol resident Chris brings a wealth of knowledge to the club. During his 14 year career in football he has amassed a considerable number of contacts and connections which he is keen to utilise to help drive the County’s 23/24 campaign.
His role at the club will cover all things football with a specific focus on first-team recruitment.
Chris has wide ranging experience counting Championship clubs such as Nottingham Forest, Birmingham City & Cardiff City on his CV.
Chris worked with Graham Coughlan at Bristol Rovers where they formed a close working relationship and they have maintained contact since those days.
Chris said on joining the club “It’s an exciting challenge, to come into the club and working with Graham and Joe, it’s a club with a great fanbase and a very positive future”.
Graham said this on this appointment “Chris is a great addition to the club; He’s a proper football person with strong Championship credentials. It’s another step in the right direction for the club. He will work closely with Joe and me with a specific focus on recruitment. Chris will also act as the conduit between the first team and the board. Chris is an important addition to the club’s bank of experience, knowledge and expertise, which will only help push the football club forward”.

Chris joined the club a couple of months ago on a consultancy basis and was instrumental in the signings we made during the last window.
