Newport County AFC are delighted to announce the signing of Chanka Zimba on a season-long loan deal from Cardiff City.
The 20-year-old forward was Cardiff U23s top scorer last season with nine goals for the Bluebirds in the Professional Development League.
His impressive form led to him making his first-team debut for Cardiff last November before he joined Northampton on loan and helped the Cobblers make the League Two play-offs.
Prior to Cardiff, he netted 13 times in 31 games for Blackburn Rovers’ development sides before making the switch to the Welsh capital.
On securing the signing of Chanka, County manager James Rowberry said: “I’m really pleased to welcome Chanka to Newport County AFC.
“He’s proved he can score goals at U23 level and had a loan spell at Northampton last season being part of the squad that made the play-offs.
“I’d like to thank Cardiff City FC in their support to making this happen. I’m sure you’ll all give Chanka a really warm welcome”
Welcome to Newport, Chanka!
