County travel to Scunthorpe on Saturday hoping to carry on from where they left off after a 4-0 hammering of Harrogate last week.
Mickey Demetriou's penalty was followed up with a Dom Telford brace before Courtney Baker-Richardson capped off the win with Newport's fourth.
Scunthorpe are currently second-bottom in League Two and are without a win and a goal in their last three matches since a 3-1 win at Oldham on December 27.
But that was followed by losses at home to Carlisle (0-1), at Tranmere (4-0), and away to Exeter (2-0) leaving the Iron currently battling against relegation.
Newport gaffer James Rowberry is able to call back Robbie Willmott after a hamstring injury and Matt Dolan who is now match fit again after having enough time on the training pitch following his COVID isolation period, while Lewis Collins will miss out through illness.
Scunthorpe will definitely be without Hayden Hackney due to concussion while former Rochdale man Luke Mathieson will be in line for his Scunthorpe debut after completing a loan move from Premier League side Wolves last week.
Myles Hippolyte is currently the Iron's top scorer with four, level with Ryan Loft who departed the club for Bristol Rovers this month. County still boast the league's Golden Boot front runner with Telford currently on 18 for the season.
The reverse fixture between these two ended in a 3-0 County win thanks to goals from Oliver Cooper, Telford and Baker-Richardson while the previous meeting in Scunthorpe was a 1-1 in September 2020.
County have not lost a game against Scunthorpe since 1987, drawing four and winning four in the eight meetings since then.
