Newport County AFC are delighted to announce the loan signing of Thierry Nevers.
Nevers joins the Exiles from West Ham United where he has been since the summer of 2021 after being signed by the Hammers from Reading, where he came through the Royal’s academy.
Nevers impressed at Reading, becoming a regular for their U18’s whilst still a schoolboy, continuing to impress at U23’s level before being snapped up by West Ham United who signed Thierry on a three-year contract in June 2021.
Nevers, who has accumulated three seasons’ worth of experience of U23s football with Reading and West Ham, scoring nine goals in 25 appearances in Premier League 2, joins County in what will be his first foray into senior football.
Quick, and with a sharp eye for goal, in his interview Thierry described his playing style as ‘entertaining’ and feels as though he can bring a lot of quality with his pace, finishing and dribbling to the club.
Speaking on the signing of the forward, manager James Rowberry said: “I am delighted to welcome Thierry to our club, he will provide a strong work ethic and huge energy on our attacking line. I am sure you’ll give a warm welcome to Thierry on Saturday.”
