We are delighted to welcome our official charity partner ‘Kidscape’ for their charity awareness match against Crawley Town. You can meet the team in our family marquee prior to the game and young people can participate in some fun activities. ‘Tinty and the Bucket Hats’ will also be performing their songs that they have recorded to raise funds for the charity.
Kidscape gives hope and help to thousands of children and families each year. They provide practical support, training, and advice to challenge bullying and protect young lives.
It’s a sad truth that at least one child in every classroom experience bullying every single day. Bullying can follow children home on their phones and devices. It can affect self-esteem, and it can make going to school a misery.
Kidscape ZAP workshops teach a range of practical tools (the ‘ZAP tools’) for handling a bullying situation. The workshops are delivered both in the community and through schools aiming to empower and support children – with 92% of children saying they now feel more able to handle a bullying situation.
Kidscape also runs a Parent Advice Line, which offers friendly, impartial, non-judgemental information, advice and support to parents, carers, family members or professionals who are concerned about a child - either because they are being bullied, or because they may be involved in bullying others.
With a range of training – from safeguarding to online safety – Kidscape supports parents, carers, and schools to create communities safe from bullying and harm.
You can find out more about Kidscape on their website, or sign up to their newsletter for practical tips and advice, and opportunities to get involved!
