Newport County AFC is pleased to confirm the following arrangements for the 2021/22 end-of-season awards.
The awards will take place in the Bisley Lounge at Rodney Parade on Saturday 7th May at 6:00pm. Tickets for the event are available here. (Limited to 2per application).
These awards will encompass various aspects of the club, including the Official Supporters' Club, the Disabled Supporters' Association, County in the Community, the NCAFC Supporters Trust as well as the main club awards.
Newport County AFC Supporters' Club Awards
The recipients of the following awards will be chosen by the committee of the Newport County AFC Supporters' Club.
Young Supporter of the Year
The recipient of this award has been chosen by the Supporters' Club's Committee.
Supporter of the Year
The recipient of this award has also been chosen by the Supporters' Club's Committee
Young Player of the Season
This award is traditionally presented by the Supporters' Club President, Cath Clarke, in memory of her parents Jack and Grace Reardon. This award represents the Supporters' Club’s choice for Young Player of the Season.
Player of the Season
This award represents the Supporters' Club's choice of Player of the Season. The winner of this award will be chosen by members of the Supporter Club.
Away Player of the Season
This award represents the Supporters' Club's choice of Away Player of the Season. The winner of this award will be chosen by members of the Supporters Club.
Disabled Supporters' Association
The Newport County AFC Disabled Supporters' Association continues to provide tremendous support to disabled supporters at Rodney Parade.
Howard Herbet Trophy - DSA Player of the Season
This award is voted for by the members of the Newport County AFC DSA and considers the on-field performances and off-field work and support.
Community Awards
The recipients of the following awards will be chosen by representatives from County in the Community.
David Williams Award – Community Player of the Season
The winner of this award is chosen by the staff from County in the Community.
Newport County AFC – PFA Community Champion
The winner of this award is chosen by the staff from County in the Community.
John Relish Award – College Programme, Manager's Player of the Season
The winner of this award is chosen by the college programme staff members; Dave Lewis, Mike Pratt, Elliot Matthews and Emily Edwards.
Allen Wood Award – College Programme, Players' Player of the Season
The winner of this award is chosen by the college programme staff members.
Melin Homes Award – Ladies' Manager's Player of the Season
The winner of this award is chosen by the ladies' team's staff members; Dave Lewis, Mike Pratt, Elliot Matthews and Emily Edwards
Accent on Education Award – Ladies' Players' Player of the Season
The winner of this award is chosen by the college programme staff members.
John Macey Award – Walking Football Players' Player of the Season
The winner of this award is selected by the player's peers.
Keith Tennant Award – WWTSS Players' Player of the Season
The winner of this award is chosen by the staff from County in the Community.
Other Awards
Newport County AFC Supporters' Trust Player of the Season
The recipient of this award is chosen by members of the Newport County AFC Supporters' Trust.
Exiles Together Award
The recipient of this award is chosen by members of the Exiles Together Supporters' Group.
Teen Exiles and Clwb Spytty Player of the Season
The recipient of this award is chosen by Teen Exiles and Clwb Spytty members.
Special Recognition Awards
The recipients of these awards are chosen by the Directors of the Club to acknowledge those who have gone above and beyond on behalf of the Club.

Newport County AFC will be presenting the following awards.
Ray Taylor Fair Play Award
This award is in memory of former director, Ray Taylor. This award goes to a player who has shown great character throughout the season and plays the game in the best spirit. The recipient of this award is chosen by Richard Taylor.
Rob Dare Award for Outstanding Contribution
This award was new for the 2019/20 season in memory of County supporter Rob Dare, who sadly passed away at the age of 48.
Alongside supporting the Exiles, Rob also coached youth football in Chepstow, and Rob’s family find it fitting to remember him through the award for outstanding contribution within Newport County AFC Academy.
The recipient of this award will be chosen by Newport County AFC Academy Manager Damien Broad.
Doc Heffernan Shield for Young Player of the Season
This award is traditionally presented by the Heffernan family in memory of the former club doctor.
This award is presented to Newport County AFC’s Young Player of the Season, as selected by manager James Rowberry.
Derek Williams Memorial Trophy for Goal of the Season
Traditionally, this achievement is presented by the Board of Directors. The award, which is presented to the Goal of the Season winner, is selected by James Rowberry.
Tom Gardner Trophy for Top Goalscorer
An award presented annually funded by Hazel Neale of North Shields, in memory of her father Tom Gardner, who was for many years the commissionaire at Somerton Park.
This award is presented to Newport County AFC’s top goalscorer at the end of each season.
Reg Parsons Trophy for Most Appearances
This award is traditionally presented by Tony Parsons in memory of his father Reg - a lifelong supporter - and is presented to the Newport County AFC player that has accumulated the most first-team appearances this season.
Brian Toms President’s Cup for Players' Player of the Season
An award first presented by the club's first president, Brian Toms MBE. This award represents the Player of the Season in the view of the first-team players.
Patrons Cup for Newport County AFC Player of the Season
The patrons were a group of influential supporters who undertook work to support the newly-formed club.
This award is chosen by supporters via a voting system, either in person at the Colchester United game or online at link which will be issued later today
