Fifth face sixth on Saturday afternoon as Newport County AFC travel to the Mazuma Stadium to take on Morecambe FC.
A mere two points separate the sides going into the match, ensuring County can overtake their opponents with a win in Lancashire.
Here, you can find all the facts and statistics ahead of this Sky Bet League Two fixture...
The opposition - Morecambe FC
Morecambe currently hold 5th position in the Sky Bet League Two table after accumulating 56 points from their 34 matches so far this campaign. The Shrimps have won 16 of their games, drawn eight and lost 10.
Morecambe started the season in great form, achieving four wins from their first five matches against Cheltenham Town, Southend United, Port Vale and Oldham Athletic. However, they got just two wins from their next eleven fixtures.
The Shrimps have since returned to their best and surged up the table to join the promotion race.
Team news
County will be looking to follow up on their Tuesday win with another victory with a side that could remain unchanged against the Shrimps.
Morecambe have been without Nathaniel Percival-Knight for the last few games, and will also be missing on-loan Brad Lyons.
One to watch – Carlos Mendes Gomes
Carlos Mendes Gomes is certainly Morecambe’s main goal threat with 12 goals and three assists in Sky Bet League Two so far this season.
The Spaniard is top scorer for the Shrimps this season, and scored in their latest outing at Forest Green, as his 94th-minute goal saved a point against their fellow promotion rivals.
The 22-year-old began his career in the Atletico Madrid academy, before moving to England in 2016 to join West Didsbury & Chorlton.
Manager – Derek Adams
Derek Adams took over at the Mazuma Stadium in November 2019 after succeeding Jim Bentley, who had been in the position since 2011.
In his first season at Morecambe, Adams successfully guided them to safety after taking over with the club at the bottom of the table. The Scot now has his sights set on chalking up a promotion with the Shrimps.
The 45-year-old has also managed at Ross County in Scotland, where he won the Scottish First Division by a record 24-point margin, and Plymouth Argyle, where he achieved promotion from Sky Bet League Two in 2016/17.
Last meeting between the sides
The last time the two sides met was back in December at Rodney Parade. The game followed the trend of late drama in south Wales, with County coming out on top.
The Exiles took the lead after 11 minutes when Padraig Amond guided home a Scott Twine pass. The teams were level at the break, however, as Morecambe scored through Carlos Mendez Gomes.
The winner for Newport came in the last 10 minutes when Josh Sheehan was fouled in the penalty area, and Matty Dolan stepped up to secure the win for the home side in a tight and tough encounter.
