Luke Gambin has been called up to the Malta squad ahead of their upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifying triple-header.
The on-loan Newport County AFC midfielder will join up with his international team-mates for their qualifiers against Russia, Slovakia and Croatia later this month.
Gambin, who has already made 28 appearances on the international stage for his country since making his debut against the Czech Republic in 2016, could surpass the 30-cap mark in the upcoming qualifiers.
The midfielder played a part in his country’s UEFA Nations League campaign last year and registered three assists in six matches as his side finished second in Group D1.
Malta get their qualifying campaign under way on home soil with a clash against 2018 World Cup hosts Russia on Wednesday 24th March. Gambin's side then face a trip to Trnava for their second qualifier against Slovakia three days later before a clash against 2018 runners-up Croatia on Tuesday 30th March.
