The latest milestone in the transformation of the pitch at Rodney Parade has been struck this week – as contractors reached the crucial halfway point of summer renovation work.
South Wales Sports Grounds – who have been on-site since mid-May - have now installed the new main drain and reached the mid-point of the transformation.
They will now install the connecting drains later this week while grading of the surface has also been finished.
Floodlighting and Electrical Services have completed the installation of new LED floodlights across the roof of both the Bisley Stand and Compeed Stand.
Jon Raymond, Facilities Manager at Dragons Rugby, said: “We’ve reached the halfway stage as we prepare for the installation of connecting drains and the arrival of the artificial grass areas.
“The weather has been fantastic this week and we remain on schedule to complete all work ahead of next season.”
