County began their pre-season campaign in solid fashion as the Young Exiles recorded an emphatic 5-1 victory against Cymru South side Undy AFC.
Tralist 1 broke the deadlock inside the opening 10 minutes before Trialist 2 doubled County’s lead moments before the half-hour mark. County again found the net with a stunning free kick from Aneurin Livermore as the Exiles headed into the break with a comfortable three-goal cushion.
Ryan Hillier soon added County’s fourth only five minutes into the second half before Trialist 2 put their name on the scoresheet once again to cap off a five-star display from the Young Exiles.
Darting runs from Lewys Twamley proved to be effective as the 17-year-old created a plethora of chances throughout the first-half.. After cutting inside from the right flank, the winger struck an effort from the corner of the box which clipped the woodwork in the 5th minute.
County continued to dominate the vast majority of the first half and were clinical with their chances on goal. Trialist 1 netted County’s first of the evening from close range after some free-flowing passing play from Aneurin Livermore and Joe Woodiwiss. Trialist 2 soon added the Exiles’ second before Livermore produced a spectacular free kick from 25-yards in the 40th minute.
It was business as usual for the Young Exiles at the start of the second half as Hillier and Trialist 2 added to County’s total. Hillier finished off a delightful move created by Twamley from close range before Trialist 2 struck a sweet effort from outside the box as he added County’s fifth of the evening.
Undy managed to pull a goal back in the 68th minute with a powerful header into the top right corner but the Exiles remained the dominant side for the remainder of the second half as they kick-started their pre-season campaign with a convincing victory.
