Newport County AFC claimed their third win of the pre-season campaign over Gloucestershire based side Cinderford Town AFC.
James Clarke scored early on following an assist from Kevin Ellison while Amond found the back of the net shortly after. It was Farquharson that stunned the crowd with an outstanding effort before the end of the first half.
County got off to a quick start with Clarke creating their first chance in the 7th minute following an assist from Kevin Ellison.
The Exiles continued to apply pressure to the home team as Padraig Amond slipped a second goal for County past the hands of Cinderford’s keeper.
Following a corner, County extended their lead before the half-time whistle as Farquharson leapt through the air to head the ball into the back of the net.
Flynn’s side continued to dominate going into the second half as Trialist 2 took an early shot on target but was deflected by the home team’s defence.
After the break, County continued their winning streak as a goal from outside the box stunned the home keeper to put the Exiles 4-0 up over Cinderford Town. However, the Foresters came back strong after County’s fourth goal to send the ball past Evan Ovendale from just beyond the half-way line.
A cross from Hylton over to Trialist 5 slipped into the back of Cinderford’s net and a late challenge from County in the final minute saw the game draw to a close with a 6-1 win for the Exiles.
Newport County AFC will play their final pre-season friendly against Cardiff City on July 31.
