Newport County AFC are delighted to announce their partnership with Beyond The White Line ahead of the Nathaniel MG Cup opening round against Llanelli Town AFC.
Beyond The White Line is a non-profit organisation that seeks to affect change within the professional sports industry for athletes and stakeholders alike, ensuring that generations of athletes and those within the ecosystem of sport have a sustainable future.
The club and Llanelli Town AFC have begun to apply Beyond The White Line’s services amongst their staff and players across vital areas off the pitch including mental health, dealing with abuse and discrimination, education, financial wellbeing, and career pathways. BTWL’s service to the club also includes an NHS approved mental health app, educational workshops and free to all resources with no financial barrier to access.
Director Kelly Anderson said: "I am delighted for Newport County AFC to partner with Beyond The White Line. James Chiffi (Founder and CEO) is incredibly passionate about the level of support provided and has ensured that there is no financial barrier to people being able to access support. This can be around wellbeing, mental health, career pathway, financial wellbeing, equality and beyond, by providing 1:1 support, access to an NHS approved wellbeing app and educational workshops for our players including the Academy and all staff, which can stay with them even when they retire or move away from the Club.
“Newport County AFC has really driven its wellbeing support over recent years, and I am delighted that this partnership will now come into effect with James and his team, which will really compliment the great work that is being done at our Club."
Beyond The White Line Founder and CEO, James Chiffi said: “This partnership with Newport County signifies our continued growth across the football league, and the football pyramid across the UK. Newport is a progressive organisation that understands the importance of putting people before profit and performance, aligned with the long-term, overarching benefits of doing so for all involved. We’d like to thank the club for the way in which the initiative has been embraced, particularly Newport’s Director, Kelly Anderson and Chairman, Gavin Foxall.”
