Joov sponsorship

Rejuvenating sports product business JOOV has extended its sponsorship with Newport County AFC for the second consecutive season, with hopes of continuing this relationship for the foreseeable future.

JOOV was launched in 2017 by Newport-born Tom Johnson after the former semi-professional motocross rider broke his neck in an accident.

The company sells 100% natural muscle balms, muscle sprays and hydration tablets that help with muscular aches and pains as well as warm up and cool down/ recovery.

Johnson said: "I was a personal trainer whilst being a semi-pro motocross rider and because other muscle rubs are full of chemicals, it defeated the object of eating clean, so I designed my own 100% natural version to apply to myself.

"The product can be used by anybody; for people who play any sport and it’s also used for arthritis, any kind of muscle aches. So, if you hurt your back, your knee, your ankle for example, you can use the muscle spray or balm."

Johnson’s relationship began with County at the beginning of the 2019-20 season and has come back on board for the remainder of this campaign with plans for the future.

"This is the second year now, added Johnson.

"I sponsored County last year and it went really well for me to want to do it a second year on the trot. Even with COVID-19, I think it will still go well. I’m very happy to proceed."

Newport County AFC Commercial Manager Matthew Owen added: "JOOV have been associated with Newport County AFC in the past and I am delighted they have returned as a sponsor this season.

"We have spent time understanding how we can support yet another Newport-based business and I am looking forward to working alongside them for the rest of the current campaign. JOOV are also providing ‘informed sports’ hydration tablets to the first team.

"We have already developed an excellent relationship and are in negotiation, looking to put plans in place for next season."

When JOOV’s new website is launched, supporters can benefit from an exclusive 10% discount by using the code NCAFC10.
