Newport County AFC are proud to be supporting World Diabetes Day, which takes place each year on 14th November.
The event marks the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, the man who, along with scientists Charles Best, James Collip and John Macleod, was responsible for the biggest type 1 breakthrough in history - the discovery of insulin.
World Diabetes Day 2020 marks a century since Banting, Best, Collip and Macelod were on the verge of the discovery.
And to celebrate this special occasion, Newport County AFC's charity partner JDRF: The type 1 diabetes charity, are calling on you to dream up a challenge involving the number 100 that you can complete within or across 100 days.
The challenge will see hundreds of individuals, companies, families and friends pledge to complete a 100-themed challenge to be completed within 100 days. This could be anything from baking 100 cakes to running 100 miles.
As a football club, we want to help create a world where diabetes can do no harm and would like to encourage Newport County AFC supporters to get involved in JDRF's 100 challenge.
