Michael Flynn believes Newport County AFC have a squad strong enough to enjoy success in the Sky Bet League Two and the Emirates FA Cup this season.
The Exiles have chalked up a lenghty list of Emirates FA Cup scalps in recent seasons, and have cemented themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the competition.
County, who lead the way in the Sky Bet League Two table, have enjoyed their best ever start to a Football League campaign this term, although Flynn also has his sights set on enjoying a successful journey in the Emirates FA Cup.
And he believes the Exiles have enough strength in depth to reap success in both competitions this season.
"We have quality players in every position," Flynn said.
"We have a better squad this season and I’m hoping we can do well in both the league and the FA Cup.
"It has been a problem in recent years. It was not just the games, but the injuries that we picked up and the travelling we had to do."
County's cup runs in recent seasons have brought in prize money and supported the club's finances, which has been welcomed during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
And Flynn is aware of the financial rewards if the Exiles can book their place in the third round of the competition.
"If we win on Saturday, then let’s get Liverpool at home!” Flynn continued.
"The club would get some money; we get to play against Liverpool and then we can crack on.
"The money is important every season. We are in a better position now than we ever have been.
"It’s a proud thing for us because we have been able to provide the club with a lifeline."
County have a hectic period ahead with Flynn's men scheduled to play 10 games in the next 36 days, but the Exiles boss believes his squad will be able to cope with the demands.
"The squad is looking really good," he added.
"There are only two out with injuries, so we have options.
"It is a hectic period and hopefully we can come away unscathed with a lot of points, and the third round FA Cup game to look forward to."
