New signing Otis Khan spoke of his delight at joining NCAFC, and is looking forward to playing in front of the home fans at Rodney Parade.
Attacker Khan signed from Mansfield on loan until the end of the season at the end of January and is raring to go in the black and amber of County.
Khan explained, “Newport is a good club. It fits my values, it’s hard-working and on any given day, they can beat anyone. The togetherness is there and it fits me perfectly, so I just wanted to get down and meet the lads.
Every time you come down to Newport with another team, everybody says it’s a difficult place to come. Every time I’ve been down the fans have been great so it’s nice to have them on my side now to help us during the game.
“Everyone seems great, so I just want to get going on the pitch. As soon as this opportunity came about, I wanted to act on it quickly and get it over the line.”
Manager Michael Flynn was delighted with the signing of Khan, and the attacker believes he already has a good rapport with the manager, “To have a good relationship with your manager is good at any club, so the fact that we’ve got that here and he’s in and around the lads, it just makes it more comfortable.
“He’s great to work with. He’s come in the building and straight away makes his presence known. He’s great with the lads and he gets everyone on a good buzz before training.”
Khan also believes his style of play can help County make a late push for a playoff place, “I like to get fans up off their seats. I’m direct, I like to score goals and create goals, and I just want to get back to enjoying football again.
“We’ve got the three games in hand which is great. It’s a goal, but if we get on a run, especially in this league, before you know it we’re up there. We’ve just got to take each game as it comes.”
