Season ticket news 2020/21

Newport County AFC can today announce details of our season tickets for the 2020/21 season.

The Club is extremely grateful for the patience of all our fantastic supporters during these difficult times.

As outlined in our previous statement on July 16th, the Board took the view it would not be appropriate to sell season tickets for 2020/21 until we were able to categorically communicate what fans would be receiving for their money. After a considerable amount of work by Club staff with EFL colleagues, we are now in a position to do so.

A combination of fixtures being played behind closed doors, restrictions on the number of supporters permitted into matches, and uncertainty over when Covid-19 capacity restrictions will be lifted, means this year’s season ticket will be radically different to previous seasons.

We have attempted to make the season ticket buying process as simple as possible despite the complexities of complying with Covid-19 restrictions and regulations.

As stated earlier this year, all season ticket prices are frozen at last season’s renewal prices. Please see table below for 2020/21 prices.

What do I get with a season ticket?

Season tickets for 2020-21 will offer a combination of access to the iFollow livestreaming service for any EFL League 2 home matches staged behind closed doors and first priority for any home matches supporters are permitted to attend. Season ticket holders will also qualify for a 10% discount on all purchases in the Kingsway Club Shop.

Of course, the Covid-19 situation is being kept under constant review, and plans are subject to change based upon the latest advice, but season ticket holders will remain at the very front of the queue for access to matches whatever the circumstances.

Due to social-distancing requirements current season ticket holders may not be able to occupy the seat they have in previous seasons, but supporters will be able to return to their preferred place once Covid-19 restrictions are fully lifted.

While stadium capacities are limited by social distancing requirements, we will only be able to accommodate supporters who purchase a season ticket. This is due to track and trace requirements. There will be no individual match tickets available during this period.

How will tickets be sold?

Given the restrictions on crowd numbers, season tickets will be sold in three stages from August 27th.

  • Stage 1 (August 27th-September 3rd): Season ticket holders from the 2019-20 season will have first priority to renew their season tickets:
    • Any 100 Club Season ticket holders will need to renew in the Bisley, as unfortunately the 100 Club will not be operating during initial restrictions.
    • All existing box and hospitality season ticket holders will be contacted by our commercial department.
    • Any supporters requiring carers will need to contact the Club via telephone as these need to be processed on an individual basis.
  • Stage 2 (September 4th-11th): Season ticket sales will then be available to Trust members, volunteers and shareholders.
  • Stage 3 (September 12th-October 4th): Season tickets will then be released for general sale.

Please note – Our first home league game is September 19th and October 4th is the EFL cut-off date to enable iFollow access.

At all stages, supporters will have the option to pay for their season tickets via four interest-free monthly instalments. (Not an option if purchasing online)

The club is conscious of the economic climate caused by the pandemic and wants to ensure payment terms are reflective of the current environment.

How do I buy a season ticket?

Supporters will be able to purchase 2020-21 season tickets online or by telephone. Purchases in-person will not be possible.

Current 2019-20 season ticket holders will be emailed on August 26th with information of how to reactivate their online accounts.

Please note online sales will require payment in full at the time of purchase. All purchases will come with a £2 postage and administration charge as in-person collection will not be possible.

If choosing to pay in instalments you will need to follow the instruction outlined in the section headed “How will paying in instalments work?”

How do I choose where in the stadium to watch matches?

During the purchasing stage, supporters will choose a section of the ground, with no seat allocation. The Club will then allocate seats aligned with most up-to-date guidelines.

We will aim to put any renewed season ticket holders as close to their current seat as possible, while following social distancing guidelines.

Supporters may be able to contact us in relation to sitting in their social bubbles or extended households, subject to availability and Welsh Government guidance. Supporters will have to complete a form confirming their requirements.

There will be no option for supporters to swap or transfer their season ticket once issued by the Club due to track and trace requirements.

Allocated seats will remain in place until restrictions are lifted. Once lifted, renewed season ticket holders will return to their 2019/20 seats.

How will paying in instalments work?

Supporters will be offered the option to pay in four interest-free instalments. To take up this option, supporters will have to submit a form to the Club. Forms will be available on our website and/or in the Kingsway Club Shop. Forms will need to be submitted via email, post or dropped at the Club Shop. There will not be any credit checks or use of third parties for this option. This is being offered to support our fans who have supported us throughout this difficult period.

To access the form please click here.

What happens next?

Season ticket holders for 19/20 will receive an email on August 26th.

Stage 1 sales will then commence on August 27th.

Box and hospitality season ticket holders will be contacted directly by our commercial department.

The timetable and stages outlined will then follow.
