Continuing our new #WellbeingWednesday weekly series, in partnership with Charity My Discombobulated Brain, read an anonymous Supporter's account of their experience at a home matchday at Rodney Parade below.
My children love match days, it started with me dropping my son off to sit with his friends he made at County and then I’d pick him up, then my grand-daughter took an interest and started attending games with him giving them a shared interest as uncle and niece.
This season my other son attends all games when not in work along with myself accompanying one of my other granddaughters who is a Clwb Spytty member; she loves the Clwb Spytty Zone as she plays happily with other children.
There really is a fantastic family feel at the ground, with the stalls & bouncy castles and you can see there’s so many others attending as families now.
We all look forward to match day, it’s nice that 3 generations can go out & enjoy something together, hopefully my younger 2 granddaughters will be joining us soon too.
Having a common interest like this in the family has grown us closer together and helps us to open up to each other about any worries and concerns we have about our mental health; although the game can be stressful sometimes we always return from a game feeling great.
Rodney Parade is located right in the heart of the City meaning there’s always plenty to do before and after a game. We aim to create a fantastic atmosphere throughout the whole ground to allow you to really enjoy your time in Newport.
