All three of NCAFC's loan players were in action over the weekend.
Jay Foulston took his place in the Chippenham Town defence as they drew 0-0 with Welling United in the MANarama National League South.
Lining up alongside former Exiles Chris Zebroski, Curtis McDonald and Nathaniel Jarvis, Foulston guided the Bluebirds to another clean sheet – a third in four games – to take his tally of appearances up to 19.
Focus now turns to the FA Cup with Newport County AFC’s SkyBet League Two rivals Northampton Town travelling to Hardenhuish Park on Sunday.
Marvel Ekpiteta played his part as MANarama National League outfit Ebbsfleet United were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Chesterfield.
Gozie Ugwu cancelled out Scott Boden’s opener before firing the hosts ahead from the spot but Haydn Hollis’ second-half header ensured the points where shared.
Ekpiteta, and Ebbsfleet, are also in FA Cup action at the weekend as they take on Notts County on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Momodou Touray won a penalty for Barry Town United but that wasn’t enough for them to hold on to their unbeaten start in the JD Cymru Premier, going down 4-1 at Caernarfon Town.
Kayne McLaggon notched from the spot, after Touray – who won the league’s young player of the year award last season – was brought down, for the Dragons after Darren Thomas had opened the scoring for Caernarfon. However, Gruffydd John, Sion Bradley and Nathan Craig all found the net after the break to claim a resounding victory.
A first defeat of the season leaves them second in the table, level on points with leaders Connah’s Quay Nomads – who they host on Sunday – albeit with a game in hand.
