Newport County AFC are delighted to announce the signing of Defender Kyle Howkins on a permanent deal, subject to EFL, FA and international clearance.
Kyle joins County on a 2-year contract, subject to clearance and is eager to get settled in and get the season underway.
On signing for the Exiles, Kyle Howkins said: "I'm really happy to get it sorted, the offer from Newport was really concrete and i'm looking forward to the challenge, especially moving from home and just can't wait to get underway for pre-season and the season ahead. Getting the deal done early will let me get mixed in with the lads and help me get to know them."
The 23-year-old signed his first professional contract with West Bromwich Albion in 2017 and went on to enjoy loan spells at Kidderminster Harriers, Mansfield Town, Cambridge United and Port Vale.
After completing the deal, Manager Michael Flynn said: "I'm delighted to have Kyle onboard, he's a young, promising centre back who has the potential to play higher. He's been coached by those I hold in very good regard. Kyle is someone I've kept my eye on for almost over 2 years and even tried signing him on loan in the past. It's a fantastic deal for us because he's got a promising future ahead of him"
