Newport County AFC are delighted to announce the loan deal of Manchester United central defender Regan Poole until the end of the season.
Beginning his career at the Exiles, Regan earned himself a move to Premier league giants Manchester United as a 16-year-old after making 15 first-team appearances for County as a teenager.
He made his United debut as a substitute in the 2015/16 season, taking to the Old Trafford pitch at the last 32 stage of the Europa League against Danish side FC Midtjylland.
After Captaining the Manchester United Under-23 team for the majority of his time at the Red Devils, Regan has also made numerous appearances for Wales from Under-17 to Under-21 level.
After Justin Edinburgh signed him on a season-long loan at Northampton Town making 24 appearances at Sixfields, Regan will be keen to help push County back up the table.
After the deal was completed, Exiles Manager Michael Flynn said: "I'm delighted to have signed Regan Poole. He is a player I know well having brought him through the Academy ranks during my time as Academy Manager, I knew then of the tremendous qualities Regan has to offer.
"These will be invaluable to the team in the second half of the season. It's a positive for the club that we have been able to sign a player from Manchester United."
Shortly after signing the loan deal, Regan spoke to #iFollowExiles: "I'm really happy to be back. As soon as I knew the club wanted me back on loan, it was a no-brainer really. I feel like Newport County AFC can get promoted this season and I'm here to try and help them achieve that."
Regan will be in contention to feature in tomorrows Sky Bet League Two fixture against Exeter City, subject to international clearance.
