Jay Foulston helped Chippenham Town earn their first win in eight league games in their final fixture before Christmas.
The teenager took his place in defence and helped the Bluebirds to a 2-1 victory over Chelmsford at the Thornbury Surfacing Ltd Stadium.
Dave Pratt fired the hosts into the lead but Chelmsford drew level shortly before the break with a well-executed header from Robbie Simpson.
Former County attackers Chris Zebroski and Tom Owen-Evans both went close for Chippenham while Shaun Jeffers, who scored three goals in 36 appearances for the Exiles, saw a shot deflected wide for the visitors.
But in the final quarter of the game, Foulston picked out another former County man in Curtis McDonald from a corner to nod in the winner.
Foulston almost got himself on the scoresheet in the dying minutes but his free kick flew the wrong side of the post.
With the festive schedule well underway, Chippenham Town make the short trip to Bath City on Boxing Day.
Elsewhere, Modou Touray came off the bench as Barry Town United returned to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 victory at Aberystwyth Town in the JD Cymru Premier League.
Kayne McLaggon got the only goal of the game in the 64th minute with Touray replacing Jordan Cotterill in the latter stages to help secure the three points.
The victory means they will be just five points off leaders The New Saints on Christmas Day with Cardiff Metropolitan University travelling to Jenner Park on December 26.
Meanwhile, Marvel Ekpiteta’s Ebbsfleet United were due to host Woking in the Vanarama National League but heavy rainfall meant the game had to be postponed. Their focus will now turn to the Boxing Day clash with Dagenham & Redbridge.
