NCAFC Defender Danny McNamara has been called up to the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad for two upcoming European Under-21 Qualifying matches.
The full-back will be part of Ireland's set-up as they prepare to play Armenia and Sweden in their bid to qualify for the 2021 UEFA Under-21 Championships, co-hosted by Hungary and Slovenia.
It is the first time the 20-year-old has been selected.
After receiving the news of his call-up, Danny said: "Representing Ireland is something I’ve worked towards for a long time. Now I’m excited and can’t wait to meet up with the lads and get going."
Manager Michael Flynn said: "It’s great news for Danny and very much deserved. His consistency has been superb for a young player and it goes to show the club are giving young players a platform to improve and get international recognition."
