Newport County AFC are delighted to announce the launch today of Spytty the Bot, the club’s new AI chatbot.
The chatbot, named after iconic Club Mascot Spytty the Dog, will operate on the Facebook Messenger platform.
The club worked with Welsh software company We Build Bots to create Spytty the Bot using their fan engagement platform AGAME.ai. Spytty will not only improve customer service in a fun way for County fans looking for information online.
Designed to answer simple fan queries, with the help of Artificial Intelligence, Spytty the Bot will become more sophisticated the more it interacts with fans.
“We are looking forward to launching Spytty the Bot to all of our Supporters very soon.” announced Ben Catton, Newport County AFC Media Officer.
“We have been working with We Build Bots, a local Welsh AI company, for a while on this project and feel that it will help improve engagement with supporters, as well as provide yet another way fans can find out particular information about the Club and the latest news at #NCAFC.”
The Exiles are the first EFL Club to launch an official Chat Bot, with only AS Roma, Arsenal and AFC Bournemouth in being the only other Clubs in world football to provide such a unique service.
Spytty will improve it's responses and quality of its answers the longer it exists, so please bear with us for now! If you can help Spytty improve get in touch with #NCAFC through our official social media channels, or email us at office@newport-county.co.uk.
Paul Shepherd, chief executive officer at We Build Bots, said: “As a lifelong fan, and ex Newport County Youth player, this project was more a labour of love than anything. We Build Bots are delighted to help Newport County drive efficiencies off the pitch through AI powered innovations, and we're chuffed that County now have another channel through which to engage the best fans in the world.”
