on the road tranmere rovers

We are back in League action this Saturday with an away trip to Tranmere Rovers Prenton Park.

Since 1989, Newport County AFC and Tranmere Rovers have only met on two occasions playing home and away in League Two in the 2014/15 season.  Both matches ended in a draw, but Tranmere Rovers would go on to be relegated at the end of that Season after a 94 year stay in the Football League.

Rovers were promoted back to the Football League through the play-offs in 2018 and have got off to a brilliant start in League Two thanks in no small part to the strike-power of talismanic forward James Norwood.

TICKETS

Match Tickets are available at the Kingsway Club Shop until 3pm today.

Tickets can be purchased on the day but will be subject to a price increase.

TRAVEL

It’s just over three and half hours driving time to Prenton Park.  As with most places close to the North Wales border, it’s a difficult journey from Newport with supporters offered a choice of taking the M6 towards Birmingham, or taking a route Hereford and Wrexham.

Both routes (barring any major traffic delays) will take approximately the same amount of time despite the Birmingham route being almost 40 miles longer.
