Newport County AFC are joining up with County in the Community, the Newport County AFC Academy, Gwent Wildlife Fund and JP Entertainments to host family friendly activities from 1pm on Saturday 15th September 2018.
Saturday’s match vs Yeovil Town is shaping up to be the most well-attended of the season so far and we’re very excited to be welcoming special guests from Maindee Primary School to the game. We are also joining the fight to find #MarrowForMarley by hosting swab stations from midday.
What activities are planned?
With support from the FAW Trust, we’ve managed to source some fantastic footy-based activities for kids to enjoy ahead of kick off on Saturday. From 1pm, we will have…
ON THE OVAL – 1pm-2.40pm (weather permitting)
SMALL SIDED FOOTBALL GAMES - FREE
Join us for small sided football games with mini-goals. Show off your skills, make new friends and have a fun-filled kick about with these drop-in footy matches.
HEAD TENNIS – FREE
Football and tennis, what could be better? Join us and test your head tennis skills with this fantastic game. Try to score the highest rally or look to defeat your opponent in a competitive match– it’s up to you!
RE-BOUND BOARDS – FREE
Test your skills with this pass and shoot activity. There’s no goalkeeper but the goals are small, so you’ll need to bring your precision and skill to complete the challenge.
MINI GOAL SHOOTING – FREE
The ball is only just smaller than the goal, there’s every chance you’ll hit the post or the bar – how many can you score in 30 seconds? Come along and find out.
GIANT INFLATABLE SLIDE – Small Fee
It’s the best kind of inflatable! A bounce castle that doubles as a slide – perfection. This activity will require a small fee to enjoy but what’s not to love about climbing to heady heights of an inflatable ladder and sliding down again!
INSIDE THE MARQUEE - 1pm-2.40pm
THROW THE BEANBAG IN THE FROG’S MOUTH WITH GWENT WILDLIFE TRUST
Test your skills and accuracy with this throwing game. The frog his hungry and needs YOUR help to eat! Stand back and gently lob the beanbag into the frog’s mouth in order to score points.
KIT DESIGN CHALLENGE
It’s time to test your artistic skills by colouring in blank kits. Design next year’s County kit or draw some wacky, wonderful mystery kit – the choice is yours!
BE A RADIO PRESENTER
Newport City Radio will be taking requests right through the show. Simply request a song or introduce the song yourself – the choice is yours!
