Newport County AFC had the pleasure of hosting the EFL Futsal Cup and EFL Futsal Trophy Draw at Rodney Parade ahead of our Sky Bet League Two match vs Accrington Stanley on Tuesday 24th April 2018.
It was a very soggy Rodney Parade so presenter Tim Thraves and First Team Manager Michael Flynn, and Player Modou Touray were in the stands for the draw. The eight teams were drawn in to two groups.

After the draw, the EFL Trust spoke to Momodou to discuss his progression from the EFL Futsal Programme, through the Academy and now to the First Team. He is the first of 45,000 people who’ve been through the Community Programme to make it to first-team football and now paves the way for other aspiring footballers to follow in his footsteps.
