Padraig Amond has been shortlisted for the Sky Bet League Two Goal of the Month competition for April for his stunning effort against Swindon Town earlier this month.
The Irishman faces tough opposition with efforts from Stevenage's Danny Newton and Luton's Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu
The April nominations for the Sky Bet League Two Goal of the Month Award are:
Danny Newton – STEVENAGE v Barnet – 2nd April
A game of head tennis ended with the ball bouncing towards the corner flag. Newton merely saw it as a chance to change direction and hook it over Barnet keeper Craig Ross.
Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu – LUTON TOWN v Crewe Alexandra – 14th April
Proof that Mpanzu’s rocket shot was sweetly struck comes from the fact that after 25 yards of arrowing unerringly towards goal, the ball was still rising as the net intercepted it.
Padraig Amond – NEWPORT COUNTY v Swindon Town – 14th April
A touch of South American magic in South Wales as Amond cushioned an out-swinging cross on his instep before his sublime no-look volley curled deliciously under the bar.
The shortlist for the poll is decided by a judging panel comprising Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; Sky Bet Sponsorship Executive Michael Holinski and EFL Senior Media Manager Rob Meaden; however, the winners of the Sky Bet EFL Goals of the Month are chosen by a fan poll on skysports.com.
