Brazil and Germany head to Russia as favourites and have also been the best backed nations by entrants so far.  Home nation England have attracted nine per cent of the entrant support to lift the trophy.

EFL sponsor Sky Bet have given Gareth Southgate’s men odds of 16/1 for a repeat of the 1966 success.  There are six teams with shorter odds than England; these are Belgium, Argentina, France, Spain and favourities Brazil, who are looking to put an end to their 16 year spell without the trophy, and Germany, who are looking to be the first nation to win back-to-back world cups since Brazil in 1962.

The longest odds are for Saudi Arabia and World Cup first-timers Panama.
