Bristol City Academy Star, Tyreeq Bakinson, has this afternoon put pen to paper on a six month loan deal for the Exiles.
The 19-year-old began his football career with Luton Town’s U10s. He shone throughout his time at Luton’s Academy and when he reached the age of 17, Hatters boss Nathan Jones had seen enough to offer the youngster a three-and-a-half-year deal.
In 2017, Bristol City offered Bakinson a three-year deal. He made his debut for Bristol in a 4-1 victory over Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup in 2017 which was one of many remarkable Carabao Cup results which saw Bristol reach the semi-final of the competition.
After signing the deal this afternoon, Bakinson spoke exclusively to iFollowExiles: “I really like the vision of this Football Club. They are always trying to improve on what they have done before. I spoke to the manager and I like how he wants to keep on improving.
“[The manager] has put together a great squad and I spoke to Shawn McCoulsky, who was here last season, and he had nothing but good things to say about the Club.”
Manager Michael Flynn added: “Tyreeq gives us a different balance in midfield. He covers the ground well, is good technically, and he fits in with the squad. He has the right attitude, is hungry and is keen to learn. I’d like to thank Bristol City for their help in getting this deal done.”
We are just SIX days from the start of the 2018/19 Season.
