Newport County AFC Academy are delighted to announce the appointment of a new Head of Academy Recruitment, Lyndon Simmonds, and a Talent I.D Co-ordinator, Sean Lewis.
Lyndon Simmonds | Head of Academy Recuritment
Newport County AFC Academy wishes to announce the appointment of Lyndon Simmonds as their new Academy Head of Recuritment.
Lyndon comes to the role with a wealth of experience, both at national and international level. Lyndon has worked as part of the senior talent identification team for the English Football Association, working closely with the national coaches at Senior, U21s, U20s and U19s level to identify and select elite players that can fit into the DNA and profile required to become full international players. His depth of knowledge gained from working as member of the Talent I.D. departments at Bristol City, Everton, Southampton and Bolton Wanderers, has given Lyndon a fantastic understanding of player profiling for the elite game.
We look forward to Lyndon joining our new Academy Stucture, reviewing the talent ID structure of the Academy and helpding to find the stars of the future.
Sean Lewis | Talent I.D. Co-ordinator
Working alongside Lyndon will be Sean Lewis who has been appointed Academy Talent I.D. Co-ordinator.
Sean Lewis is currently one of the First Team analysts at Newport County AFC. Sean respented Bryntirion Juniors FC for 8 years culimating in appearances for the Boys Club of Wales at the age of 15. He has also been coaching football for Bryntirion Junior sides for 9 years.
Recently, Sean worked for the FAW, during the European Championships and working for Cardiff City Academy and U23 sides. He has also achieved a BSC Sports Coaching and Performance from USW.
