Academy FAW Youth Cup

This weekend the Young Exiles take on Careau Ely in the 3rd round of the FAW Youth Cup, in an away fixture. We look at Careau’s path to the third round and recap our recent FAW Youth Cup fixture against Risca United.

Path to the 3rd Round

Careau Ely progressed to the third round after beating Cambrian and Clydach Vale 4-0, with Tom Roberts scoring a hat-trick last month.

They also beat Undy Athletic 4-1 in the first round of the competition, which started off their cup run.

The Young Exiles have only played one game in the cup – after automatically qualifying for the second-round because they made the semi-finals of the competition last year.

Our last match in the FAW Youth Cup was against Risca United, with Byron Anthony’s side producing a brilliant performance in the second round of the FAW Youth Cup, beating Risca United 4-0 at Ty Isaf Park.

Goals from Owen Taylor, Owura Edwards, Tom Hillman and Josh Williams lead the Young Exiles to a thrilling victory.
