In an unprecedented few days, we have completely sold out the 7,500 tickets available for our final Sky Bet League 2 Match of the 2016/17 Season vs Notts County FC. An incredible show of support and backing from the whole city.
The manager has described Saturday’s Match vs Notts County FC as the last of 6 Cup Finals. The Club’s football league status has gone down to a two-horse race between The Exiles and Hartlepool United (who currently sit two points before County and host Doncaster this Saturday).
After a difficult defeat in Carlisle, Mike Flynn, said he thought there’d be a big crowd for the game and that he hoped Rodney Parade would be ‘rocking’ then “the boys have got to rise to the occasion”.
The gaffer appears to have his wish.
But would Mike Flynn have predicted that the people of Newport would have responded so fervently to the Club’s call for support and their recent heroics on the field that the entire 7,500 allocation would be sold out two days before the match?
Over the past week or so, the Club has heard some incredible stories of supporters travelling from all over the country and all over the world – we have fans from California, Australia and elsewhere joining us on the day – to Support The Port and sing the boys over the line in their biggest game for years.
Important Match Information
With the increased numbers expected at Rodney Parade, the Club recommends supporters collect their tickets at the earliest possible convenience to avoid any delays on match day. The Ticket Office will open for collection at the following:
Thursday 10am-7pm
Friday 10am-7pm
Saturday 9am-5pm
The Club also recommends arriving early on Match Day and allowing plenty of time to get through the turnstiles as these will be much busier than usual with the increased demand.
Please note, as this is the last game of the season – due to EFL regulations – kick off cannot be delayed for any reason so please be in your seats as early as possible.
